SEAMEO QITEP in Language conducts Workshop on the Use of Indonesian Language for Official Correspondence

SEAMEO QITEP in Language (the Centre) concerns on the improvement of not only teachers but also education personnel particularly in the area of language used for communication. Thus, on 17-18 June 2014, the Centre held the workshop to enhance school administrators’ skills in writing official correspondence by using Indonesian language.

Twenty school administrators from South Jakarta attended the workshop. They learned (1) conformity for official correspondence, (2) formats for official correspondence, (3) types of correspondence and (4) problems in writing official correspondence.

The Centre invited Indonesian language experts, namely Ms Dewaki Kramadibrata (University of Indonesia), Ms Liliana Muliastuti (Jakarta State University) and Dr Felicia Nuradi Utorodewo (SEAMEO QITEP in Language) as the resource persons of the workshop.

By the end of the workshop, the participants were able to produce draft of official correspondence such as official announcement, invitation letter and power of attorney letter.
