In-House Training on Report Writing

Officially opened by its Deputy Director Program, Ms Endang Nilla Pramowardhanny, M.A., SEAMEO QITEP in Language (Centre) organised an In-House Training on Report Writing on 1-2 December 2015. Mr Semba Biawan from Value Consult Jakarta led the training that aimed to enhance the report writing’s competence of the Centre’s staff.

During the two days training which was attended by 20 Centre’s staff, Mr Semba Biawan guided the participants in understanding the materials of effective report, its criteria, and how to write it. He also explained that an effective report should be based on valid data. Thus, participants must be able to differentiate between data and opinion. In addition, Mr Semba Biawan suggested that a good report should give a proper recommendation as a solution for a problem arising in the reported programme.

This programme gave many advantages related to the improvement of the report writing’s competence of the Centre’s staff. In the training session, the participants had a chance to practice their skills in writing an effective report and received feedback from the resource person. By escalating the competence of the Centre’s staff, the quality of the Centre’s report is expected to improve.
