In-House Training on Dersigning Training Program

To improve the competence of the Centre’s staff in organizing an event and designing a training syllabus, SEAMEO QITEP in Language organised an In-House Training (IHT) on Designing Training Program on 28­­–29 December 2015. The training was provided by Value Consult and the resource person was Mr Agus Mauludi. 17 Centre’s staff joined the training.

This training was organised for two days. On the first day, participants learned the importance of knowing and understanding the Centre’s vision, mission and values related to their dedication to the workplace. The participants were made into two groups. Then they were asked to arrange random pictures to test their compactness as a team. Next, individually, they were required to complete a simple psychological test to measure their impact to their workplace.

On the second day, the participants were grouped according to their divisions, namely Training and Development for Teachers and Education Personnel (TDTEP), Research and Development Programme (RDP), ICT and Network, Human Resources and General Affairs (HRGA), and Partnership and Public Relations (PPR) Division. Each division was required to plan an activity for a year in line with their duties and functions. Moreover, the participants, still in their divisions, were also tasked to make key behaviors of a training topic to reach the competence in accordance with the training objectives. The competence will be used to design a training syllabus. Afterward, the resource person explained the stages to organise a training, i.e. training need analysis, program design, program development, program implementation and evaluation. He also highlighted the importance of monitoring and controlling a training program.
